What should I do if I encounter the error: "Update failed" on Home Alarm Advanced or Essential?

The installation of the Link Advanced or Essential does not succeed, you are blocked, because you encounter the message: "Update failed"
The Link update can take up to 20 minutes. This message is displayed when the time limit is exceeded. Before restarting the installation:

  • if installing over Wi-Fi, make sure your Link is not too far from your WiFi access point
  • if you are installing your Link Advanced via a mobile network (GSM), check that the Link Advanced is high enough for it to receive the signal correctly,

At this point, two possibilities:

  • click "retry"
  • click on "quit"

Whichever choice you make, follow the instructions on your screen.
The Link Advanced or Essential will then be installed.

 

1. Retry

I chose "retry", and I get the error message "There is a problem preventing you from updating your Link"
If the retry procedure does not succeed and you are prompted with the message: "There is a problem with updating your Link"
You must then manually uninstall the Link as follows:

  • go to "My equipment",
  • select Link
  • then click "delete"

You can now resume the installation taking into account the previous recommendations on the position of the Link.

2. Give up

I chose "quit", and I get the error message "There is a problem with updating your Link".
If the retry procedure does not succeed and announces the message: "There is a problem with quitting the installation of your Link" You must then manually uninstall the Link as follows:

  • go to "My equipment",
  • select Link
  • then click "delete"

You can now resume the installation taking into account the previous recommendations on the position of the Link.
